DG Khan blast leaves 25 dead, 50 injured DG KHAN: Death toll has climbed to 25 while over 50 others were wounded in a bomb explosion that ripped through a mourners procession in Muslim Town here on Thursday.

Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has announced Rs500,000 for each bereaved family and Rs75,000 each for the injured.

A high-powered committee has been set up to investigate into the incident.

The blast ripped through a mourners’ procession in Muslim Town outside Johar Ali Imam Bargah.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene immediate after the explosion and shifted the dead and injured to the district headquarter hospital where many are said to be in critical condition.

The explosion, which shattered the windowpanes of the nearby buildings, enraged the participants of the procession and they chanting slogans against the government.

DIG Dera Ghazi Khan, Mubarak Ali Athar said the blast was a suicide attack which left 25 killed and 50 others wounded.
