SKARDU: At least five persons have been crushed to death and three others sustained wounds after the roof of their house collapsed due to rough weather and incessant downpours in a village located in the outskirt of Skardu on early Tuesday, Geo News reported.
The house was in fragile condition, witnesses said, adding that at least eight persons were present in house at the time of accident including two women and a child.
Area people waited for no rescue officials to kick off rescue activities after the accident and took out dead bodies of five persons and rescued three injured men from debris.
Injured and deceased persons have been shifted to hospital for medical attainment, hospital sources said.
No rescue efforts were witnessed from police officials and government authorities in the area, residents claimed.
