PM for speedy steps to resolve PIA strike ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Wednesday directed the Defence Minister to urgently resolve the strike issue of the PIA employees.

The Prime Minister, in a meeting with the Minister for Defence Ch Ahmad Mukhtar here at Prime Minister Secretariat directed the minister to hold negotiations with the employees.

He said both the sides need to be flexible and should reach an understanding, acceptable to the employees and management, and is also in the larger interest of the national flag carrier.

The Defence Minister apprised the Prime Minister of the issue that led to the strike call by the PIA employees. He assured the Prime Minister that the matter will be resolved peacefully at the earliest.
