Civil disobedience fall within ambit of treason GUJRAT: Federal Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar has said that the words uttered by Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif fall well within the ambit of treason.

Talking to media here, the Defence Minister ruled out the possibility of marshal law and mid-term elections in the present circumstances in the country.

He said Pakistan People’s Party will succeed in forming a government in Punjab province. “If not, we will sit in the opposition,” he added.

Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said 25 out of 70 candidates of PML-N were independent.

The Federal Minister said our doors are open for negotiations and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and Asfandyar Wali are making efforts in this regard.

“The Governor rule will end as soon as situation in Punjab is back to normal,” he said adding, however, that no one will be allowed to create disturb the peace.
