OIC condemns Bangladesh mutiny DOHA: In a message addressed to the Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, the Secretary General of the OIC, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu today expressed his strong condemnation of the incident that took place in Dhaka on February 25, 2009 that led to the tragic and brutal killing of a large number of officials of the Bangladesh Army by some undisciplined mutinous paramilitary personnel.

In his message, the Secretary General conveyed his sincere condolences and sympathies to members of the bereaved families and expressed the OIC's solidarity with the people of Bangladesh in sharing their national grief. He also expressed his deep appreciation for Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina's leadership in bringing about a quick and successful end of the unwarranted and condemnable incident and expressed his confidence that the people of Bangladesh would be able to overcome this traumatic experience with courage and forbearance and to move forward in the way of continued peace, progress and stability in the days ahead.
