Tourists leap into hot bath and then icy water
Updated at: 1007 PST,  Sunday, March 01, 2009
LAKE BAIKAL: Tourists have flocked to Lake Baikal in Siberia to enjoy a traditional Russian "banya" or ice bath.

Visitors to a banya take a steam bath in a sauna where temperatures soar to 230 degrees.
After working up a sweat and with their skin still steaming, they then jump into a frigid plunge pool. After emerging from the icy water one visitor said the experience was invigorating and said he felt like a newborn man. Visitors to this ice banya can also enjoy a drink in a bar made of ice.
