March 15 deadline for setting up of shriat courts in Malakand
Updated at: 1442 PST,  Sunday, March 01, 2009
March 15 deadline for setting up of shriat courts in Malakand MINGORA: Defunct Tahrik-e-Nifaz Shriat Muhammadi (TNSM) Amir, Maulana Sufi Muhammad has set a deadline for the provincial government for setting up shariat courts until March 15.

He said that he was not satisfied with the steps thus far taken by the government.

Addressing a press conference at Tablighi Markaz here, Maulana Sufi Muhammad said that if shariat were not enforced by March 15, then protest camps would be set up in Malakand. Division.

He said that neither peace was possible prior to on ground enforcement of shariat nor this could be guaranteed. He demanded from the government and Taliban to ensure the release of each other’s all prisoners. He said that any party violating the truce during March 1 to March 15 would be declared offender and he would be held responsible for lawlessness.

He regretted that despite the signing of the draft of Nifaz-e-Shariat, Malakand Division’s all courts were proceeding with cases under old law.
