Import of used-machinery for up-gradation of refineries mulled over
Updated at: 1024 PST,  Tuesday, March 10, 2009
Import of used-machinery for up-gradation of refineries mulled over ISLAMABAD: The ministry of petroleum and natural resources is mulling over the proposal for the import of use-machinery for the up-gradation of refineries.

Sources told Geo News that a summary in this respect has been prepared, which would be submitted in the third week of Economic Coordination Committee meeting. The summary suggested facilitating setting up refinery plant with used-machinery and up-gradation of the old plant, which included allowing tax rebate for up-gradation with used-machinery.

Sources said that such measures aim at increasing the existing capacity of the refineries and production of high-tech petroleum products.
