Bashir Bilour survives attack in Peshawar PESHAWAR: The NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour on Wednesday narrowly survived an attack on his life here.

According to sources, unknown gunmen opened fire on Bilour. However, he narrowly escaped the attack.

Bilour was on visit to Salt Market in the city when his guards saw five armed men approaching the senior minister.

The police and guards opened fire on the gunmen, injuring two passersby. However, the attackers fled from the scene and barged into a home to seek shelter.

They hurled a grenade, killing one woman and injuring five others. The tension and panic gripped the area following the exchange of fire.
