Updated at: 0440 PST, Monday, March 16, 2009 ISLAMABAD: According to well-placed sources, the deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will assume charge as chief justice of Pakistan on March 22. The current chief justice Abdul Hameed Dogar retires on March 21.
The majority party will be asked to form the government in Punjab once the governor’s rule was lifted, the sources said.
