 MoF&A to contract US Co. for BT cotton production

MoF&A to contract US Co. for BT cotton production ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoF&A) has been permitted to enter into an agreement with a US company for BT cotton production.

MoF&A officials told Geo News that this decision aims at encouraging BT cotton production in the country. US company, Monsanto had offered to introduce the production of latest quality of cotton BT, which has all the more capacity to protect itself from pest attacks besides per acre production is also high.

MoF&A have been directed to set up a special steering committee in this connection, which would interact with the US Co. for formulating an action plan.
