Policeman dies in suicide blast at Islamabad police station ISLAMABAD: A policeman was killed and several others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the gate of a Special Branch of Police station in Sector G-7 near Sitara Market here on Monday, police and eyewitnesses said.

However, it is feared that the casualties may rise.

The injured have been shifted to the nearby hospitals where emergency was declared.

Interior Ministry secretary Kamal Shah said an officer who was apparently challenging the attacker died in the blast. There were no immediate reports of any other casualties.

The blast was so loud that it shattered the window panes of the surrounding buildings.
