Vigilance team raids illegal Matric exam centre
Updated at: 1441 PST,  Thursday, March 26, 2009
Vigilance team raids illegal Matric exam centre KARACHI: An illegal exam centre for the Matriculation examination has been found here in Shah Faisal Colony.

Dozens of male and female students were solving the exam papers with the help of teachers when the vigilance team raided the centre on Thursday.

On receiving the report that a school namely Al-Umar Foundation, situated in Shah Faisal Colony, was working as an illegal exam centre, a special vigilance team headed by district education officer Ahmed Nawaz Niazi raided the centre where dozens of students in various class rooms were busy in solving the paper of English, a subject of Matric Science Group, with the help of books and teachers while a lady was giving the exam on behalf of any other student.

The Al-Umar Foundation was not made the centre for the Matriculation Examination this year by the education board. The centre for the students of this school was in another school, namely Agro Technical School, situated also in Shah Faisal Colony.

However, despite giving exam at that centre its students were solving their paper in their own school with the help of their teachers.

When the school was raided, the teachers ran away through back door of the building and later some armed people reached the school due to which the vigilance team also escaped through back door.
