| GEO Pakistan | | Jr. doctors go on strike after scuffle in PIMS | Updated at: 0700 PST, Friday, March 27, 2009 ISLAMABAD: The junior doctors in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have staged strike after some junior doctors scuffled with security guard on Thursday.
According to the administration, a junior doctor Salahuddin and his other associates tortured a security guard and broke his teeth after a row erupted on issue of car parking.
Junior doctors locked the main gate of the institute as they went on strike raising troublesome for the poor patients, sources said.
Meanwhile, doctors defied holding talks with hospital administration and kept chanting slogans for many subsequent hours, which compelled them to call police force for the maintenance of law and order situation.
The Executive Director of PIMS Dr. Altaf Qureshi told Geo news that the suo motto action against this anti-disciplinary has been taken while police has commenced probe into it and vowed to book the responsible persons to justice at all costs. |  |
