46 missing as S.Korean warship sinks near N.Korea border
Updated at: 0645 PST,  Saturday, March 27, 2010
SEOUL: Forty-six sailors were missing after a South Korean warship with 104 people on board sank near the North Korean border following an unexplained explosion, a military spokesman said Saturday.

"Fifty eight sailors have been rescued and 46 others are missing," a spokesman for the Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) told media.

He said a navy team was preparing to dive to investigate the cause of the sinking and possibly retrieve bodies.

"Rescue operations are still under way," another JCS official said. "There is no clue yet on any North Korean involvement."
