 KARACHI: A prisoner died of cardiac arrest in Karachi Central Jail (KCJ) on Saturday, jail sources said.
Police sources claimed that deceased detainee (Haji Shafeeq) met sudden death due to heart attack. He was mentally retarded and was kept imprisoned in Charia ward of central jail.
The dead body was shifted to Civil Hospital, sources added.
According to police version, the prisoner was held under section 295-C in April 2, 2004 and was brought behind central jail lockup on September 15, 2005. |  |
