Punjab crisis ends after Shahbaz’s restoration: Gabool
Updated at: 1703 PST,  Tuesday, March 31, 2009
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People Party (PPP) leader Nabeel Gabool says that restoration of Shahbaz Sharif as Chief Minister has ended the prevailing political crisis in Punjab.

Speaking to Geo News here on Tuesday, he welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to restore Shahbaz Sharif as Punjab’s Chief Minister.

“Our party respects the court’s decision,” he remarked.

Gabool further said that the political crisis in Punjab ended after the court’s decision.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan stayed its decision of February 25 in which it disqualified Mian Shahbaz Sharif to hold the office of chief executive of Punjab province.

The five-member bench headed by Justice Tassaduq Hussain Gillani granted a stay to Mian Shahbaz Sharif on a writ filed through Khawaja Haris till the disposal of main petition.
