Malik warns forex companies against illegal activities KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Thursday that the government would utilize all its resources to keep an eye on fake visas, flow of foreign currency and travel documents.

Speaking to reporters after meeting with representative of Corporate Client Circle and exchange companies, the federal minister said that the government formed a three-member committee, which would examine the franchises involved in illegal activities and would recommend action against them.

He warned that any money exchange company found involved in corruption would by responsible for the act. He said that an application would be made in the State Bank of Pakistan to bring changes about franchise laws.

“I have directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to undertake thorough investigation from the person detained from Sarjani Town in connection with fake currency, passport, revenue stamps,” he said.

The government, he said, would also table a bill in the parliament about increase in the punishment of people involved in issuance of illegal visas and foreign currency.
