 New Zealand beat S Korea 2-1

 NEW DELHI: New Zealand created a big upset by beating a spirited and strong South Korea in a Pool A match of the Hero Honda FIH Hockey World Cup 2010 in New Delhi Friday.

The Kiwis now have 6 points from three matches and ahead of South Korea in the semifinal race.

New Zealand scored the first goal in the fourth minute from a penalty corner converted by Andrew Hayward. The Kiwis took a 2-0 lead, when Dean Couzin scored from a penalty stroke in the 22nd minute.

South Korea fought hard, but failed to score any goal till the 70th minute. Lee Nam Yong scored the consolation goal from a penalty stroke in the dying moments of the match, but that was not enough. South Korea lost the match 1-2.
