Updated at: 1816 PST,  Saturday, March 06, 2010
KSE witnesses volatility this week KARACHI: The benchmark KSE-100 Index witnessed volatility during this week but recovery amid last few sessions allowed it to close above 9,600 level.

The Index began the week with downward movement and slid to a level as low as 9,400 but the foreign investment in the local bourse in the last two sessions helped the Index recover some of the early losses and close at 9,624 points.

According to market analysts, sound financial results of NBP, UBL and Shell Pakistan prompted buying in the last couple of sessions.

The average trade volume was recorded this week at 129 million shares, showing a decline of 9 per cent compared to last week.
