| IRSA predicts 3-5 pc water shortages for Kharif|

ISLAMABAD: IRSA has predicted on the whole 3-5 percent shortfalls of water availability for Kharif crops.
IRSA Advisory Committee meeting with IRSA chairman, Muhammad Amin in the chair mulled over the water availability to provinces for Kharif crops on the basis of IRSA Technical Committee recommendations.
IRSA told that at the onset of the Kharif crop the country would be facing water shortage by 5 percent and in the Kharif season ending months by 3 percent.
IRSA said that 109 million acres feet (MAF) of water for Kharif crops would be available, of which, 31.9 MAF would be provided for the province of Sindh, 35 MAF to Punjab, 27 MAF to Balochistan and 8 MAF to NWFP.
