 PPP’s Core Committee discusses power crisis

 ISLAMABAD: Meeting of the Core Committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was held today at the Presidency with President Asif Ali Zardari in chair. Briefing the journalists Spokesperson to the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting discussed current political situation in the country.

The meeting also discussed the prevailing power situation in the country. In this context, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Minister for Water and Power briefed the committee and explained the measures that have been taken to address the situation.

The Spokesperson said that the President during the meeting asked the Minister for Water and Power to address the issues of power shortage on war footings.

Those who attended the meeting included Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar, Minister for defence; Nazar Mohammed Gondal, Minister for Food & Agriculture; Rehman A. Malik, Minister for Interior; Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for Information and Broadcasting; Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Minister for Labour & Manpower; Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources; Dr. Babar Awan, Minister for Law & Justice; Raja Pervaz Ashraf, Minister for Water & Power, Senator Jahangir Badar; Senator Faisal Raza Abidi; spokesperson to the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar; Rukhsana Bangash, MNA; Fauzia Wahab, MNA and Fauzia Habib, MNA.
