IMF expresses satisfaction on Pakistan’s VAT laws WASHINGTON: International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed satisfaction over Value Added Tax (VAT) laws of Pakistan.

The laws have been presented in all four provincial assemblies which will likely approved these laws soon.

In a statement issued here, IMF expressed hope that assemblies will pass the VAT draft soon. Pakistan has achieved the target till December 2009, however, budget deficit has been increased slightly. The board of directors will approve the fifth trench of loan for Pakistan, the statement added.
