Kolkata put Punjab into bat in IPL’s 6th match
Updated at: 1721 PST,  Tuesday, April 21, 2009
Kolkata put Punjab into bat in IPL’s 6th match CAPE TOWN: Brendon McCullum won the toss and put Kings XI Punjab in his bid to register a first victory for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2009, here on Tuesday.

Kolkata made one change to their side, dropping Ajit Agarkar for Yashpal Singh. Ajantha Mendis, surprisingly, was once again overlooked.

Kings XI Punjab went in with the same eleven. It was perhaps too harsh a result, when they lost their rain-curtailed match to Delhi Daredevils by ten wickets.

Kolkata: Brendon McCullum (captain & wk.), Chris Gayle, Sourav Ganguly, Brad Hodge, Aakash Chopra, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Moises Henriques, Yashpal Singh, Murali Kartik, Ishant Sharma, Ashok Dinda.

Punjab: Ravi Bopara, Karan Goel, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Yuvraj Singh (captain), Mahela Jayawardene, Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla, Taruwar Kohli, Vikramjeet Malik, VRV Singh, Yusuf Abdulla.
