De Villiers ton helps Delhi set Chennai 190-run tough target DURBAN: South Africa’s star batsman AB de Villiers smashed a brilliant century helped Delhi Daredevils to set a tough target of 190 runs for Chennai Super Kings here at Kingsmead on Thursday.

AB de Villiers was unbeaten on 105 when his team reached 189 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

After Virender Sehwag won the toss and opted batting, Delhi’s start was disastrous as they lost both openers for only eight runs. Gautam Gambhir got out for a duck while Sehwag could make only six runs.

However, AB de Villiers and Tillakeratne Dilshan vame to rescue and added 68 runs for the third wicket. Dilshan made 50.

Medium-pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji was the most successful bowler for Chennai Super Kings with three wickets for only 18 runs while Manpreet Gony and Albie Morkel took one wicket each.
