WASHINGTON: Hair stylists from salons across the US spent hours and used miles of hair extensions to create an amazing collection of inspirational designs.
The charity event was organised by the New Hampshire Food Bank and had a first prize of $7000. The competition was won by Colleen Jamieson of Alden James Salon with Danielle Esjunin modeling.
The judges awarded marks for not just the hair design but also for the model's presentation on the catwalk. Model Kayla Smith showed off her hair design by Lynn Kentz of Franklin County Technical High School in Tuner's Falls.
Model Portia R. DeCordova sported possibly the most outrageous design, a tall ship under full sail (complete with parrot). It was designed and created by design by Ben DeCordova of Salon DeCordova in Tampa Bay.
A bubble blowing wig was created by Stephanie Moye of Moye Hair Ect from Pittsburgh and modelled by Taneeka Hamilton.
Model Molli Sanchez showed judges a design by Monika Anderson and Sherrie Downing of Highlites Salon, of Ashland.
Model Destiny Nquyen showed off an fan-tastic wig, designed by Kevin Carter of Artistry of Hair from Farmington Hills. | |
