Pakistan gear up to avert Swine flu threat ISLAMABAD: Pakistan started taking preventive measures to turn away the threat of Swine flu. Airport authorities have been directed to conduct screening of passengers.

The Executive Director of National Institutes of Health(NIH) Dr. Birjees Mazhar Kazi told Geo News that in accordance with WHO guidelines, countrywide preventative measures have been taken against all types of influenza, Congo virus and other diseases.

He said Swine flu is a type 3 virus of influenza. High alert has been announced in NIH and we are constantly in touch with WHO to get updates on current situation of Swine flu.
