12 civilians killed in Afghanistan bomb blast KABUL: A Taliban-style bomb has killed 12 civilians when their van struck the device in eastern Afghanistan.

The victims were heading home from a shopping trip on Wednesday when they hit the bomb, known as an IED or improvised explosive device.

"Twelve people including women and children and men, were killed in that explosion," said Dawlat Khan Qayomi, district chief of Tani, in Khost province.
