 NEW YORK: Add Katie Holmes to the long list of actresses portraying JFK's widow. Less than two weeks ago, we learned that Rachel Weisz would be portraying Jackie Kennedy in a biopic directed by her husband, Darren Aronofsky.
Now the History Channel says Mrs. Tom Cruise will play Jackie in a mini-series that will air next year. The series, about the entire Kennedy clan, will also star Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy, and "Flags of Our Fathers" actor Barry Pepper as JFK's brother Robert.
Others who've played Jackie include Jeanne Tripplehorn in “Grey Gardens,’’ Jacqueline Bisset in “America’s Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story’’ (and “The Greek Tycoon’’), Jill Hennessy in “Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot,’’ Parker Posey in “The House of Yes,’’ Joanne Whalley in “Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis,’’ Stephanie Romanov in “Thirteen Days,’’ and Sarah Michelle Gellar in “A Woman Named Jackie.’’ |  |
