| PPP-MQM core committee yet to evolve consensus|

KARACHI: The Core Committee of Sindh coalition partners, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), met today to discuss the fate of local bodies system in Sindh.
According to sources, the PPP has sought a relaxation of 2-month time to finalize the LG ordinance. While the MQM said that party’s coordination committee would make a final decision on the issue.
Earlier, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad called on President Asif Ali Zardari and discussed with issues relating to development projects, law and order situation and local bodies election.
According to sources, the governor will issue the Sindh Local Bodies Ordinance only after holding consultation.
