Four killed at North Hollywood restaurant shooting
Updated at: 1002 PST,  Sunday, April 04, 2010
LOS ANGELES: A lone gunman opened fire inside a Middle Eastern restaurant in the North Hollywood district of Los Angeles Saturday, killing four people and wounding another, police said.

The shooting took place around 4:40 pm (2340 GMT), said Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Rosario Herrera. The suspect, described by police as a white male in his 30s who was possibly Armenian, fled the scene and remained at large late Saturday.

Police had yet to determine a motive, but sources close to the investigation told the Los Angeles Times the incident may have involved Armenian gangs.

Three people were found dead at the restaurant and two others were taken to hospital, where one later died. The state of the survivor was unknown.

The victims were all men aged 20 to 25 years old.
