QUETTA: Federal Law Minister Dr Babar Awan has said that the parliament has blocked the path of dictatorship by raising the ‘China Wall of 18th Amendment.’
“The writ of the state has been restored in every nook and corner of the land,” he claimed.
“Through this recent legislation, not only the dictators but also their aides, judges and politicians will also be held accountable, said Awan.
Addressing the lawyers here on Friday, Dr Awan said his government has kickstarted the long journey of provincial autonomy after 37 years. The pace at which National Assembly unanimously adopted the historic 18th Amendment, the upper house would also do the same, he added.
“If democracy flourishes, Pakistan will also gain strength and will head to a right direction?” he said.
The law minister announced: “I have brought a financial package of Rs60 million for the lawyers of Balochistan.”
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Bar Association awarded him a lifetime honorary membership.
