ISLAMABAD: The two-day Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA) would begin here from May 13 to provide a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas among the political leadership, economic decision-makers, experts on development and cooperation and the international development partners.
Minister of the State for Finance, Revenue Economic Affairs and Statistic Ms Hina Rabbani Khar disclosed this, while addressing a press conference here Monday. Secretary Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Farrukh Qayyum was also present on the occasion.
Highlighting the objectives of the event, she said that the conference would offer a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas among the political leadership, economic decision-makers, experts on development and cooperation and the international development partners.
The theme of this years’ conference, she said is “Regional Cooperation in a Development Perspective which would focus on mining, energy and Infrastructure, health, labor movement and human resources development. The Minister of State for Economic Affairs said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and President of Afghanistan Hamid Kharzai are likely to address the occasion.
