Mercury breaches 50 degrees as heat waves grip country KARACHI: A very hot weather coupled with hours-long load shedding has gripped most parts of the country including interior Sindh and Punjab.

The met. office recorded approximately 50 degrees centigrade in Nawabshah and Larkana on Wednesday. In Hyderabad, temperature was recorded 46 degrees centigrade and in Sukkur it was 44 degrees centigrade. Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Khairpur and Dadu also braved a very hot spell.

The roads and markets in major cities across the country wore a deserted look due to sizzling heat.

The met office has also forecast very hot weather in the upper areas of Punjab for next few days.

The sizzling heat has compelled the people to stay indoors, while students of intermediate, appearing in examination, are also facing difficulties due to load shedding in this very hot weather. Due to heat wave and load-shedding people particularly children are passing sleepless nights.
