5-12 hrs power cuts in steel mills, textile industries: PEPCO LAHORE: The Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) has announced five to twelve hours load shedding in the steel mills and textile industries due to the sudden rise occurred in demand of electricity in the country, said PEPCO spokesman Muhammad Khalid.

According to spokesman, earlier, the textile industry was declared exempt from load shedding but 5 to 12 hours’ power outages in evening timings will be observed with a view to provide relief to public from today while the load shedding from 6pm to 6am will occur in steel mills.

The PEPCO claimed this process will allow it to save electricity up to 800 megawatt on daily basis.
