13 killed including 4 security personnel, 22 injured in Mardan blast MARDAN: 13 people including 4 security personnel have been killed and 22 others injured in a suicide blast in Mardan. According to Geo News correspondent, Amir Muhammad Khan, the blast occurred in a bakery in PRC market of Cant area of the city.

The bakery was completely destroyed along with many other area shops in the blast.

The security forces and ambulances reached on the spot soon after the incident and blast area has been cordoned off. The rescue activities were started immediately. Some injured were also shifted to CMH Mardan. Rescue work was affected by load shedding in the area.

The Chief Minister of NWFP Amir Haider Khan Hoti has condemned suicide blast and said it was an attempt to jeopardize peace initiatives taken by the government. He announced compensation amounting to Rs 100 thousand each for the heirs of the victims of the blast and Rs.50, 000 each for the injured ones.
