He was talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti and his cabinet ministers here at the Prime Minister House on Wednesday. The Prime Minister said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA have made great sacrifices for peace and faced the challenge of militancy and extremism in a brave manner.

The Federal Government and the people of country would always stand by them to supplement their efforts, he added.

The Prime Minister agreed to personally disburse the first tranche of compensation money among the affected population of Malakand and Swat whose houses have been destroyed by the militants.

He also assured the delegation of timely release of the funds for the projects already announced for various areas of the province.

Earlier, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa thanked the Prime Minister for the recent release of funds for various schemes as well as for the IDPs.

The delegation drew the attention of the Prime Minister towards the establishment of universities, medical colleges, cadet colleges, uplift canals, small dams, and NHA projects requiring appropriate funding in the forthcoming budget.
