ANP members stage walkout against target killings KARACHI: ANP members staged a walkout in Sindh Assembly today, protesting against the recent spate of target killings, in which more than 30 people were killed in Karachi.

While members of PPP, MQM, Functional League, ANP and other parties condemned the recent incidents political and ethnic killings.

Meanwhile, Arif Masih of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) took oath as a member of Sindh Assembly in today’s session.

Later, Speaker Nisar Khuhro also took oath according to the 18th Amendment.

Speaking at a point of order, ANP member Amanullah Mehsud said how long we could continue to remain silent on target killings and demanded arrests of the people involved.

He lashed out at the PPP for siding with the killers due to political compulsion.

Later, ANP minister Amir Nawab and member Amanullah Mehsud staged a walkout from the assembly. But senior minister Pir Mazhar ul Haq, Ayaz Soomro and Zahid Bhagri brought them back.

In his remarks, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that members should respect party’s decision. He said Shahi Syed was satisfied, after which ANP members should not have staged a walkout.
