ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Commerce on Thursday directed ministries of defence and commerce to submit the details of an agreement secured with allied forces for delivery of Nato supplies to Afghanistan via Pakistan.
Briefing the media after the meeting, Chairman committee Khurram Dastgir said the commerce ministry failed to give a satisfactory response on the query. Therefore, trade ministry has been directed to submit the particulars of agreement in the next meeting.
The committee asked the FBR officials to ensure checking of NATO supplies at the Karachi port. However, the officials told the committee that they were not authorized to do so under the international law. | |
