 KSE 100-Index up 46 points to 14,455
Updated at: 1820 PST,  Wednesday, May 07, 2008
KSE 100-Index up 46 points to 14,455 KARACHI: After days of consistent sell-off, the Karachi stock market finally managed to hold off the bears today, where the benchmark index edged 46 points higher to close at 14,455.

Share prices looked under pressure until midday but as buyers came in by late trade the marked picked up to close in the positive zone.

In the broader market, 179 scrips advanced today, while 141 declined and 20 were unchanged.

Still, with low volumes of just 185 million shares, dealers are skeptical, if today's movement would trigger a pull-back in the stock market.

KSE-30 Index lost 19 points to close at 17248.
