KARACHI: All CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan were closed for 24 hours on Friday as part of energy conservation plan adopted to overcome energy crisis, Geo News reported.
Compressed natural gas station owners in Sindh and Balochistan last month agreed reluctantly to observe one-day weekly off as part of the government's plan to conserve gas in the country.
The CNG stations of the two provinces will remain closed from 12:00 noon on Friday.
Commuters were facing difficulties due to unavailability of the gas.
Yesterday, All Pakistan CNG Association president Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha said they will no more cooperate with the government in its energy conservation drive and has decided to not to close CNG stations in the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
While decision about closing stations in Sindh and Balochistan will be taken on Monday.
Association was of the view that there was no improvement in energy crisis and gas pressure remained low on two days in a week.
