Fire kills 2 persons in Bin Qasim Power Plant KARACHI: Two employees of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) were killed in a hydrogen gas cylinder blast in Bin Qasim Power Plant. The electricity supply from unit was suspended due to the incident.

According to officials, a hydrogen gas cylinder burst in unit 2 of KESC Bin Qasim Power Plant resulting in the death of a worker named Hidayatullah, while another worker Umer Sharif died on the way to hospital.

The unit caught fire after the blast. Two fire-tenders were dispatched to the plant; however, KESC administration did not give them permission to enter. KESC controlled fire and the supply of electricity from the unit was immediately suspended.
