India ahead Pakistan in taxpaying culture
Updated at: 1523 PST,  Wednesday, June 16, 2010
India ahead Pakistan in taxpaying culture NEW DELHI: India enjoys a pool of taxpayers which is 70 percent more than that of Pakistan as per the proportions of population in both the countries, Geo News reported Wednesday.

India relies on the 27 million people who pay taxes in the world’s second-most populous nation to help fund 10.2 trillion rupees ($219 billion) in spending that’s needed to spur economic growth.

27 million taxpayers account for at least 2.7 percent of the total population. Conversely, only 2.7 million from 170 million people pay tax in Pakistan. Taxpayers make up 1.59 percent of the total population.

Thus, India has 70 percent more taxpayers ratio as compared with Pakistan.
