Rice offers Iran talks on nuclear program
Updated at: 1852 PST,  Friday, June 20, 2008
Rice offers Iran talks on nuclear program TEHRAN: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Friday said nuclear stand-off with Iran could be resolved diplomatically if it gave up sensitive nuclear work.

Addressing the 40th Conference on Foreign Affairs Council, she said USA acknowledge the right of Iranian people of acquiring nuclear technology, saying America could extend its help in this regard. However, she made it clear than Iran would not be allowed the nuclear enrichment.

Answering a question, Rice said Iran’s central bank and international banking system could face ban if it was found involved in helping Iran over nuclear program. USA has not found any evidence in this regard, she clarified.
