| GEO Pakistan | | 3 terrorists apprehended in Bajaur: ISPR | Updated at: 2100 PST, Tuesday, June 23, 2009 ISLAMABAD: The security forces have apprehended three terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition, while 5 soldiers were injured in Bajur, an update issued on Operation Rah‑e‑Raast said here Tuesday.
According to ISPR, the security forces are in the final phase of search and clearance operation in Swat while 45,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from South Waziristan Agency were Registered at various host places in DI Khan and Tank.
The security forces started search and sweep operation at Pararai, Khazana village in Shamozai area, Rangeela village Banjot (10 km East of Mingora) and Sambat.
Security forces further consolidated their positions in surrounding areas of Biha, Roringer, while during search operation in Mangai (3 km west of Alpurai) apprehended three terrorists and recovered two 7 mm Rifles, two 12 bore Rifles, one Mk 4 Rifle, one 30 bore Pistol and ammunition.
In South Waziristan Agency, the security forces established link up at Sarwakai and Dargai, while terrorists fire raided with rockets and small arms at Inzar China, Zalai and South Waziristan Scouts Camp, causing no loss.
To date, 45,000 IDPs of South Waziristan Agency have been registered in D I Khan, Tank and they have been accommodated with host families and each family is being issued with UBL Card worth Rs 5000 per month.
The security forces carried out consolidation process at Sarkari Qila in Charmang Valley in Bajur. Terrorists attacked a security forces vehicle with IED followed by rocket fire close to Asghar village in Charmang causing injuries to five soldiers.
On Monday, 3,548 Cash Cards were distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand.
Around 744 Tons of rations have been distributed among IDPs of Districts Shangla in Upper Swat, Mingora and Charbagh. |  |
