KARACHI: The couple involved in drug-smuggling with the help of Umrah pilgrims—Sarwat Hussain and Shafia Baigum—have smuggled heroin to Saudi Arabia through 15 families.
According to investigative officials, both man and his wife revealed that they had smuggled heroin to Saudi Arabia even before with the help of Umrah pilgrims and they also once took the contraband themselves to Saudi Arabia.
According to the officials, the couple revealed names of two people who sew ahram and slippers with heroin hidden in them. The efforts are made for their arrests and their names are not being told in the media.
Police officials said the personnel of Az-Zohra Welfare organization take these heroin-carrying ahram and slippers from the pilgrims. The arrested people in Saudi Arabia include Shafia’s mother Shamim Baigam and her two brothers.
