 Load shedding continues in country
Updated at: 1859 PST,  Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Load shedding continues in country LAHORE: The intense spell of load shedding continued Wednesday across the country, as the cities are being plagued by 11 hours of load shedding and the rural areas are suffering from 18 hours daily.

The angry people came out on roads against the load shedding, as the difference between demand and supply of Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) has mounted to 3000 Megawatts.

Further load shedding is being carried out to bridge this gap.

The people protested against the severe load shedding carried out every next hour during extreme hot season and demanded that there should be no load shedding during nighttime.

Meantime, Pepco officials said the people have resorted to unnecessary usage of air-conditioner, adding the situation will improve as the weather settles.
