Zardari appoints officers for families of martyred soldiers ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday spoke on telephone with the families of four defence personnel who were martyred recently during the ongoing fight against militancy.

Spokesperson to the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar said the President spoke on telephone separately with the wife of Major Afzaal, mother of Capt Meraj and the brothers of Subedar Rahib and L/Nk Ali Gohar.

All the martyrs were serving in the Frontier Corps when they embraced martyrdom.

Speaking to the families of the martyr the President lauded their services for the country and said that they laid down their lives for the nation. He said Pakistan would remain eternally grateful to the martyrs and their families for their sacrifices.

The President told the families of the martyred that the government had prepared plans to look after them in a befitting manners.

President Zardari said that he had also appointed an officer with a dedicated telephone line in the Presidency who can be contacted by the families of the martyrs for the resolution of problems faced by them.

The President spoke with the families in Rawalpindi, Peshawar and towns of Frontier province and they thanked him for his kind gesture.
