SANTIAGO: The 55th anniversary of the Cuban communist revolution is being celebrated all across the country.
The young Fidel Castro fifty-six years ago raising voice against Batista government had leading about 150 comrades attacked the military barracks in the eastern city Santiago, when scores of comrades were killed, Fidel Castro was arrested and sent to jail. However, after three years in 1955, he was released. Fidel Castro’s this encounter was named July 26 movement and the first battle for revolution. Fidel Castro came to power in 1959. The country is jubilant on this occasion of the anniversary of revolution, while the President, Raul Castro will be addressing the nation.
