 65 dead in Nigeria clashes

 ABUJA: Sixty-five people were killed in clashes between security forces and Islamist militants in weekend attacks in northern Nigeria, the country's police chief said Monday.

"Five policemen have been killed, one police station burnt and 60 Talibans killed," police Inspector-General Ogbonna Onovo told reporters, referring to an Islamist sect styled on Afghanistan's Taliban.
